Community and Wildlife Security
The conservancy works closely with the Kenya Wildlife Service, the local government, and the National Police Service to put in place community-led plans to reduce conflicts between people and animals and make the area safer. We recruit, train, and equip community game scouts and key informers who work hand in hand with Kenya wildlife officers to maintain security for wildlife and humanity. The teams monitor the species of endangered wildlife, carry out anti-poaching patrols, raise awareness about conservation and act as wildlife ambassadors for their communities. The teams also work closely with the police to curb livestock theft within the communities.
